Approvals

Electronic s approvals and materials legislation are a key component of any electronic product.

Please contact E2M Technology for details.

Electrical Safety

Standard for hazardous voltages (42.8Vpeak, or 60Vdc) and temperatures for information technology equipment.

Harmonised from IEC60950-1. The equivalent  for North America is UL60950-1.

EN60950-1

RoHS

RoHS legislation for the control of some materials used in electronic products. Amongst other materials, limits are set for lead, cadmium and mercury. It is important during the design process to select parts to ensure the completed assembly will be RoHS-compliant. CE marketing requires adherence to RoHS.

RoHS

Information Technology Equipment Susceptibility

The measurement of limits of electrostatic discharges and radio signals immunity for both industrial and domestic equipment.

EN55024 compliance is designed into schematics and carefully applied into PCB layouts.

EN55024

Information Technology Equipment Radio Disturbance

The measurement of limits of conducted and emitted radio signals generated for both industrial and domestic equipment.

EN55022 compliance is designed into schematics and carefully applied into PCB layouts.

EN55022

Waste Electrical and Electronics Equipment

WEEE covers all electrical and electronic equipment. It is targeted at reducing environmental impact of this type of product when becoming waste by putting the cost of recycling on the producer and distributor.

CE and UL Marking

Before an electronic product can be placed on the EU market, it must first meat standards that are relevant to the product. These include the low voltage directive, electromagnetic compliance, RoHS and WEEE. For North America, there a UL (Underwriters Laboratories) standards to be complied with and declared for.
